Alan,
There were reports that it may happend under Windows 2000 with SP4. Is it the version you're trying to install VFP8 under? You may contact MS PSS by phone to resolve this problem ( VFP8 comes with two free installation support incidents ).
You can find more info at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;en-us;Prodoffer25a#faq1399>I just purchased my VFP8 Upgrade. I'm currently running VFP6. I started the install and it proceeded fine up to the SOAP install. Then I get an error message that a general error has occurred in the install, contact my provider. Obviously in the packaging, there is no place to call for help.

>The readme file when I get the error says that SOAP may be installed standalone, and is on the CD at \SOAP\soapsdk.msi. In my CD it is at \soaptoolkit\soapsdk.msi.
