Hi Jos,
Why outsourcing is not accepted by many peoples.
In reality I accept it, because I couldn't do everything in my firm - this will be expensive for me, like accounting, cleaning, fixing computers, etc.
I suppose that if I hire peoples to do this they will be not happy, because I will be able to pay low wages, because this could aford my budget.
In same way my clients outsource to me developement of their new software and keep only support staff - admins.
For them is cheaper to use my services from time to time and to recieve top technology solutions with newest product version on the market.
One of them decide to hire one of my coders 7 years ago. Now other firms already use VFP6.0/7.0 apps , but he still maintainance FoxPro2.5 apps.
When I ask him to calculate how much cost him this coder, rough calculation shows that whith spendings they can upgrade at least twice their software.
In reality hiring contractors for development of new system is outsourcing too.
From which country will be contractor for firms sometimes is nonsensse.
Because of globalization India have some comparative advantage and get large portion of outsourcing. Their comparative advantage is that many people could be hired for short time for large project. They have advantage in simple programing time consuming projects like making of reports.
