>All the north areas of Spain are really green and fresh (Bask Country, Asturias, Cantabria, Galicia, North of cataluña). The central and the south are very much dry but historically and artistically great. I think that, maybe after Italy, is the best europpean country to learn about the old continent history, culture and arts...Northern Spain is a beautiful green country. I have been in La Coruña and Santiago, Santander, Bilbao, and San Sebastian.
The Basque Country is rugged and, exscept for the weather, very nice indeed. I visited many cities and towns when I worked for a Spanish company 25 years ago. Rode many times through Bilbao, Elgoibar, Mondragon, Vitoria, etc.
PS: Ondoy bili eta guichi gastau! (if if remember correctly), and I'm sure I didn't spell it right, (and that is the extent of my knowledge of Basque, a hard language) :)
