Hi, Alex.

I was about to answer when I read David's reply and I think it is the same I'd said.

>If you only want to see the photos in a form, you can go with a fairly small file, say 100 x 100 pixels. In the software used to produce the jpg files, a quality setting of 80% or "better jpeg" will give you adequate color depth and definition without file size bloat. In an image control VFP will automagically adjust the photo to the size of the image control, however your quality is better if that is not necessary and the image control size is the same as the file size.

If the photo is to be printed at a 1.5" x 1.5" size on a 300 dpi printer, then your best results will be with a photo file or 450 x 450 pixels. With a quality setting of 80% or "better jpeg" your file size will be acceptable. If top quality is needed, go for 100% quality, but the file sizes can start to become excessive, and it is unlikely that you need that quality for employee photos.

Knowing the use you plan for that, I'd recommend to set a standard about 500 x 500 pixels, trying to take the photos at 80% compression. This would make each file about 100Kb or less, and if you need to put it on-screen you can let the Image control to resize it around 100x100 with decent enough quality.

That size will print well, too.

Something important I'll recommend is to avoid storing images in general fields. For alternate methods, you and Erick can read a good article from my friend Rubén Rovira at:
