Note to make a light out of your situation, I will tell you how screwed up some of these salons are. A few months ago I get a call in the office (not at home, mind you). The woman says, "Dmitry, I am calling to confirm your appointment for a bikini wax." I almost fell from the chair, although I nonchalantly explained to the receptionist that I would try anything, once, but this is not my type of thing <g>. Anyway, it turned out that one of my daughters made the appointment (for herself, of course) but they mistakenly entered the appointment against my name in their data base. (For those who wonder why I ended up in the salon's database <g>, they also do health massages and my wife gave me a gift certificate for a massage some time ago).

>>>On Thursday I had an important interview at 2pm. So, at 10am I went to a Beauty Salon, which is located near my home. Since I am new to Columbus, I don't know much about such things and therefore just choose this one by its location. I asked to make a coloring in my natural color and a nice hairstyle.
>>>
>>>Well, here is what she had done. She colored my hear in the color much darker than my natural color, she cut them extensively, though I asked don't cut and she put a lot of laquer on my hair, which I dislike (in another Beauty Salon in Boston the hairdresser (very professional) used foam and I thought, that's the usual american practice). So, essentially she did everything not as I asked. Finally she told me to pay $45. I did and for a moment forgot about tips, which she reminded me... So, I gave $5 as a tip.
>>>
>>>Now, I don't like, what I currently have. I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied. What should I do? Should I let it go or can I do anything about it?
>>>
>>>Thanks a lot in advance for your advices.
>>
>>Well, first, you should tell her exactly what you just tell us here. So, at least, the first part would be done in order to provide them what you didn't like. Then, if they don't react, you could still ask for an upcoming free service such as the one you just had if they don't offer you another one or reimbursment, fully or partial. But, go to them first, let them know. Maybe she was new over there and maybe the owner is not even aware of that.

>I am not sure, how can I get to the owner (manager). I thought yesterday of going, but nobody was at the desk and three hairstylists were working with the clients, so I even didn't come in. Today is the second day after the "incident". I think, if they return my $50, I would think it's over. I do not want any other upcoming services from them... Essentially, I paid $50 for "ruining" my hair. Though, it's my personal opinion. I am a little bit conservative when it comes to appearance. May be they would tell, that in their opinions the hair look much better than before. When she finished, two other clients came and told, how pretty the hair looked...

>Anyway, I don't like it and my opinion should be dominant, I think. My husband took the neutral position. He said: "I don't understand anything about it..."
