Ahhhh, but at least you are in one of the most beautiful locations in the U.S. to be going through a house move! I lived in Portland on the west side (Lancaster road) in the mid 80's and really enjoyed the area. I lived in Vancouver for awhile too but Portland is so much nicer (well except for the black ice on the roads in the winter!). And then there's the 'no sales tax' benefit...I still remember my step-father telling visitors "It's Willamette, damnit" to get people to pronounce it correctly :o) Can I type that on the UT? Probably not...SORRY

>>Hi Tommy, the code is fine and will work. The main difference beween this and other solutions given is that this will force a user to wait the set period whereas the other options allow the user to bypass the wait period by pressing any key.

>That's what I figured; in the meantime I've been trying to come up with either a witty one liner or some obtuse method for creating a delay. Something like; reduce the voltage of the power supply in the hope that it will slow the system clock (I know that this is not how the crystal driving the clock works). Alas, I am under too much pressure at the moment to be inspired. The house-purchase-from-hell / house move / remodel are just about coming to an end.
