Try this:

1. Start VFP8 with the -a and -c switches from Start/Run, i.e. "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual FoxPro 8\vfp8.exe" -a -c

You may have to adjust the path if you didn't use the default installation folder.

2. In the command window, do SET RESOURCE OFF
3. Attempt to reproduce the crash.

If the crash goes away after the above steps, try step 1 and step 2 independently, to see which one helps.

If you still see it, you should contact Microsoft as before, and let us get this nailed down for you.

>>Yep, they should be in the application event log. Make sure you don't have a filter set in Event Viewer, that may be why you aren't seeing the events. This error reporting is only available in VFP8, or VFP7 SP1.
>>
>>>When running Windows 2000, should these events be in the event log? I'm having similar issues with the debugger crashing VFP, but the event log shows nothing other that event log startup/shutdown.

The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: vfp8.exe, 8.0.0.2521, vfp8.exe, 8.0.0.2521, 0001dbef.
