Kenneth,

>As a newbie to Mere Mortals, I'm trying to setup a form for a single-record datafile (that is in the DBC). However, no view is needed here. I've created the business object and added it to the form. It's data access object has the cursor name as "SysCntl" - the name of my DBF. However, I have to set the field's control source to "_SysCntl_." to make them visible (I discovered that thru DISPLAY STATUS).

There is an "issue" with VFP that causes the underscore problem you describe. Try the following to fix this:

1. Open your business object class
2. Open the Business Object Builder
3. Remove the cursor from the business object's data environment
4. Close the builder and save changes.
5. Reopen the Business Object Builder and add your table back in.
6. Close the builder and save changes.
