Hi Jim,
Well, I would never tell a person they are wasting their vote. Plus, politicians gain power even if they are on the losing end of an election. Even if they gain a small percentage of the votes, they now become a voice to be reckoned with. Unfortunately, this is sometimes a bad thing. Al Sharpton is a classic example. Here's a guy who was created by the media and is trying to go down in history as another MLK. But he has done so by using any devious means possible and to create as much tension between the races as possible. He is an ex-drug dealer and is responsible for causing a riot in Crown Heights that resulted in the death of a man. I am still trying to find someone who can point out something good this man has contributed to society. Because the media always gave him the mike since he was a contraversal character, he's gained name recognition. He's learned how to use the system well to his advantage. He's always going to run in an election and loose. But he is alwasy going to gain more numbers each time strickly due to name recognition and since the media never reports his bad side. He uses those numbers to blackmail and extort money from companies threatening to boycott them.
My apologies to everyone for using this media for making political comments. Yet I am beginning to think that these are the last places in the media where our voices could still be heard. Although I am not sure about who is right or wrong when it comes to the Sprint Issue, I do applaud Victor for bringing it to our attention.
