Perhaps I have failed to search deep enough but I did not think the CursorAdapter documentation was extensive. Can you provide a few more details about where you found this info in VFP8.

You are correct that Aleksey has been a great help and it would be wonderful if the information he has provided was in the documentation. He helped me in a number of ways when I could not find the answers in the documentation.
