I guess next on my suggestion list would be to hack the frx (or a copy would also work), add the DE data record(s) for the table(s) you want (this will require a little poking around, using an FRX with a DE for example), then let user do their thing with the builder. Then either delete copy of frx, or records containing the DE info.

That's what I started looking into doing. I was just hoping there was a better way to get it acting like it did before the data environment
