Jim;

Everybody should smoke! Just ask the Tobacco Industry! There should be no age limit on smoking. Why there are even songs like “Smoke Get’s in Your Eyes”, which help you between nicotine fits, to deal with the world.

There is nothing like seeing people in places like Reno Nevada, pushing or pulling a small two wheel green hand truck with a small oxygen tank attached, and the oxygen fed through a clear plastic tube to his/her nostrils. The smoke in the gambling casinos is so thick you cannot see across the rooms.

Ask Dezi Arnez, Luciel Ball, John Wayne, Nat “King” Cole, Huell Brenner and Leonard Bernstein how much they enjoyed smoking and what it did to their lives. Ask the millions of nameless souls who smoked and died of lung cancer what his/her feelings are on this subject. Ask the millions of non-smokers that died of lung cancer how much they enjoyed the inconsideration of smokers.

When I was performing as a professional flamenco guitar player I detested the smoke filled rooms. Smoke and adults went together like cancer and lungs. Too bad someone thought there may be a connection between smoking and lung cancer. We should feel sorry for the people that are addicted to smoking and want to invade your life and health.

Have you ever seen anyone dieing from lung cancer? It is not pleasant!

My friend Ramon Ramero is a well-known Paraguayan Harpist who performs in many parts of the world. Ramon never smoked but spent many years in France and other places where smoke in the environment where he works was the norm. Ramon has lung cancer and has been treated for several years at Stanford Medical Center. Tell Ramon that secondary smoke did not cause his problem.

You may be the only authority on the face of the earth who cannot equate smoking with lung cancer. I would prefer to listen to those with medical degrees and credentials speak on the behalf of humanity. After all, I am not addicted to smoking, do not own stock in any tobacco company and attempt to live a healthy life style.

Tom

>Amazing how a small grassroots campaign many years ago blossomed to where smokers are scorned (yes, I saw your grin) and smoking reviled.
>If smoking was really as bad as it's made out to be none of us should have survived 18xx - 1965, when smoking was everywhere (including elevators, theatres, offices, studios, stores, hospitals, busses, trains, planes, schools, all sports events, indoors or out, and anywhere else you can think of except working with gasoline or gases or other highly combustible material). Not to mention all the wood/coal burned by everyone for heating and cooking back then. And the unleaded gasoline.
>Second-hand smoke is the biggest fraud ever perpetrated on society at large. "They" ought to be looking at radio waves as the primary source of cancer rate increases since 1900 or so. I suspect it's probably been proven to be a serious factor but been hushed up because military/commerce needs radio waves. What about all the particulates put into the air by burning fossil fuels? Another cover-up I suspect, for military/commercial 'needs'.
