Thanks for the comment. Using ODBC is a great way to work with Btrieve files, unfortunately I do not have the DDF files. What my client need is a report generator that will be able to read data from their existing app which uses Btrieve. My only real programming skill is with Vfp. I know I can just use Butil to dump the data to a text file and let Vfp handle the rest. This method, I think, is not that efficient.

I know I will be facing a lot of trouble in figuring out the correct field size and type of the Btrieve data. Anyway will try my best.

Could you show me some coding examples ?
