We get the spreadsheet data from an external source. We don't normally check the formats during the import. The file is received and then imported. It worked correctly for a few weeks, but recently we had a problem. When I stepped through it using the debugger, I noticed the value 1015617 was seen as 08/29/468. I was just trying to set a variable to the value in the spreadsheet.

In Excel, the field displays as 1015617 and I just checked the Format Cells area to see that the field is now formatted as a number. Why would VFP try to import this as a date? In the debugger, I get a 'U' for the type value?

Any ideas?
