Let us not forget that France was correct in its assessment re WMD which is why they did not join the attack. I'm wondering when those responsible for the "retreat monkey" and "freedom fries" episodes and the rest of it, will try to rebuild the bridges they burned so proudly.

Under the circumstances, don't you think there is a wee bit of current "relationship baggage" that is more relevant than the US/French contributions in World Wars or Panama or Suez Canals.

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
