Hi Marcia!

Of course. That is what I meant by helping out in ways that are not visible. Howver, a book, article, or conference session are highly visible I think. I did not mean to suggest that there was anyone that did not earn it - far from it. I was just pointing out that there were names that I have never heard of on the list so they must be contributing to the VFP community on another forum (perhaps in another language?) by speaking at conferences in other countries perhaps, or in another venue entirely and I was wondering what/where those venues are... I'm curious as to what are and where are all of the vfp communities in today's world! :o)

>To be fair to Ken, he did say that receiving the award is also a consequence of other contributions such as writing books and articles as well as speaking at conferences < s >. Even though we get paid ( minimally < s > ) for writing the books and articles, I can tell you that I could earn more working at McDonalds than I got paid for writing books and articles. I can also tell you that each conference session I prepare takes at least 40 man hours just to write the code samples and white paper. This does not even include the rehearsal time.
