I have also noted that there are those that never seem to post anything or very little in the way of actual technical advice/recommendations so they must be helping out in some way I cannot see.
To be fair to Ken, he did say that receiving the award is also a consequence of other contributions such as writing books and articles as well as speaking at conferences < s >. Even though we get paid ( minimally < s > ) for writing the books and articles, I can tell you that I could earn more working at McDonalds than I got paid for writing books and articles. I can also tell you that each conference session I prepare takes at least 40 man hours just to write the code samples and white paper. This does not even include the rehearsal time.
