I pay over 300.00 a month for myself and my daughter for health insurance and that is with a 100.00 credit for belonging to a fitness program! Then of course comes the co-pays and deductibles on certain services....If only Canada were warmer! Years of living in Wisconsin were too much for me! In Canada, can illegal aliens get healthcare and drivers licenses and residences and work like they can in California?

>>Living almost 1 year over here now, it amazes me how backwards the U.S. can be at some specific points. Healthcare is one.

>If you look at the G7, the US is alone on the heathcare front. Most wealthy nations have socalized, universal heathcare. For the most part it works. Looking at my pay stub, every month, my employeer makes my $30 contribution to medicare for me. They also pay for extended healthcare through Blue Cross which means I get massage visits, some drugs, dental, and a bunch of other things. Personally, I think it is obscene to profit from another person's misery.
