Are you using a View to populate the grid?
When you said you are using a filter, that implied to me that you are using the DBF itself as the data source for the grid and are setting a filter to redisplay changes by the user. If so, I have had a lot of problems with this approach and have found using Views with Requery()to redisplay data to be real stable.
