The config file is for the App Level, not the User level. What you describe as user preferences, we describe as user state. Preferences are something different for us. Sort of like Defaults. We found you can save a user state dataset directly into a text field, just like saving variables to a VFP memo field, by using XML. Makes it just as versatile as the VFP memo, but more readable for diagnostics.
