Hi Brian,

I’m new to MM.NET too. I can’t answer you question just yet but I will be working on learning how the framework binds to Grids today. The sample application shows code in the orderdetail business object that collaborates with the primary business object to query related data to fill the orderdetail grid. Step 11 in the “Jump Start Windows Form Application” outlines how to setup related data in a grid. I'm not sure if a dataview is handled differently. At first glance this approach looks very well designed. Now I just need to figure out how to put it to practical use. I will keep you posted on my progress today.

I’m also a VMF user and my initial experience with MM.NET was a little disappointing but after spending some time studying the basic design and lowering my expectations a few notches, I believe I can incorporate the functionality I need without too much overriding of the basic framework code. I do recommend sub classing all of the form controls and any other classes for that matter and making changes in the subclasses rather than in the MM base classes.

I have completed an initial base class data entry screen that functions similar to the VMF screen with enabling and disabling buttons and a form level MODE property. Since I don’t know MM very well and the fact that the documentation is so lacking, I’m not sure if I’m using the best approach but at this point it seems to work.

Let’s wish each other luck,

Terry Carroll
