>>I encountered a very strange problem. I used the setup wizard to prepare disks. It created directory Disk1 through Disk7. Everything looks good, but... When I tried to copy fiels from the Disk3 directory, I get one file which appears to have some problems. I get an error message unable to create directory of access denied. What the heck is this problem. The directory does contain 221 files, but I think the maximum files allowed in a root directory is 512? I need to Fedex out the system tommrow, as a weeekend warrior, I would appreciate any insight. Thanks!

Maybe a DLL, a Windows file, a Fox file... Usualy, when you get an "Access denied" message, it's when you try to access an unshareble and already open file. It has nothing to do with your 221 files.
That may be it. "Already open" sounds correct. But, the file in question was named "Driver.PR$", a compressed file. I don't think this file would be open. I will check into it. U may be on the right track though, maybe it was some other Windows file that was open/loaded that caused a conflict. I know that there is some limit on the number of files allowable in any root directory. I always believed that the numer was 512 or so. I am confident that this is not the problem. Another possiblity, is a virus. I have not downloaded the latest virus list in quite sometime. Thanks for the comments.
