>That may be it. "Already open" sounds correct. But, the file in question was named "Driver.PR$", a compressed file. I don't think this file would be open. I will check into it. U may be on the right track though, maybe it was some other Windows file that was open/loaded that caused a conflict. I know that there is some limit on the number of files allowable in any root directory. I always believed that the numer was 512 or so. I am confident that this is not the problem. Another possiblity, is a virus. I have not downloaded the latest virus list in quite sometime. Thanks for the comments.
I had so many problems like that and Windows gave me some messages so far from the real problem that I don't remember them. But when is about acces denied I usual look for some file that is somehow open and I am sure is not.
Another good source of such problems can be (in Windows 3.x) the old share.exe. Because if you don't use it, it's possible to get such weird messages from Windows (apparently having nothing to do with the real problem).
