The "interview process" is expensive from all perspectives. Literally anything that can reduce the likelihood of a wasted interview is (IMO) warranted - this is especially the case if inter-state or international travel is involved.

If you think that James is expecting too much from the job advertisement, then why not be constructive and suggest something that might sit between the summary advert and the actual interview, say a link to a web page with more details.
