I don't have a really good explanation. Canada and the US do have different cultural histories to a large extent. Same in many ways, different in some. I don't want to open a hornets nest, but I think the average US citizen is more corporate friendly than the average Canadian. I think that the fact that Canada has a bit more of a socialistic cultural history, tends to colour our attitude toward the corporate world a little more.
