So you see, it's not just freee tables but vfp also. I know that you have an example in your book, .net for vfp developers, reading vfp data but you don't have an example of UPDATE, INSERT or DELETE for vfp databases ot free tables. Was this not necessary to illustrate vfp data access and manipulation, or was it just not possible in the context of the chapter?

Actually, I have a VFP 8 Northwind database on my computer that DOES work with the sample application...including INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE. It does work with the Command Builder, but it doesn't work with the VS .NET Data Adapter Wizard. At times the Command Builder doesn't work (as in the case with your particular tables), but it actually does work in many cases without any extra "fiddling". Try it with the VFP 8 Northwind "Orders" table to see if this works for you.
