Wherever the market goes. <s>

Short-run: VFP is still the development system of choice for vertical market products where it doesn't make any difference what they're written in.

Short-run: converting VFP applications to .NET will be a good market for 5 years or so.

Medium-term: who knows. MS will have a great OS and great dev tools; Linux will have a great OS and good dev tools. It's really going to depend on Linux penetration on the desktop. That penetration is happening, and there's no telling how far it's going to go. In the state and local government market, Linux will likely be big, because money is tight. It's already started (Google on Largo FL Linux).

It'll be interesting.
