What is your source - a table, cursor, etc? You're sure you're looking at the actual source? - e.g., if the source is a SELECT, then check resulting cursor
How are you verifying that it's not moving the pointer?
If it's updatable, do updates work correctly? if they do, then the record pointer must be moving... curiouser and curiouser
