Yes, I was confusing JBoss (Open Source) and Borland JBuilder. I took a look at Jboss, but it is built programmically by manually programming with a text editor by sub-classing Java classes, as opposed to a visual builder that can be used to assembled an app with all the underlying code generation taken care by the IDE. With the component approach, each object dropped on the container would have its own properties, events and method, which could be coded to develop the app.

I also downloaded JBuilder earlier today, but haven't installed it yet. Under Linux its about 70 megs for the app, 70 megs for the docs, and another 10 for the special stuff which bring the total download to around 150 megs. I was delighted to discover the personal version of JBuilder is free, as you confirmed in your post.

I was disappointed in idea. I had read some threads indicating it was much nicer than either NetBean or Eclipse. I downloaded and installed it. It has a really nice installer with a .bin extension, but it doesn't have components that can be easily assembled into apps using a drag and drop of objects onto containers. Oh well.
Do you have any opinion of IBM's Visual Age. I may also give it a look.

I took a quick look at TheKompany.com web site you provide to get some idea of what ReKall was. It looked interesting, but I'm more curious to find out why 2 or 3 million people have chosen Java as their development platform.
