Interesting article but like you I need to continue with JBuilder for now. So far the IDE has been very helpful in my studies. But now I'm starting to understand Java Classes and I find that JBuilder does not follow what I'd consider standard Java. I.e. most of the swing stuff I have been reading creates forms (JFrame) that call other forms don't place all the code into a JBinit class. But it's to early to really judge if it's right or wrong from my point of view. Still learning.

One thought - it seems that many of the J2EE platforms are web apps. This is not what I'd like to do. I want to build a rich client app that has access to the data via the internet or local network. It's almost two tier but I'm thinking I'll use JavaBeans at the server along with database SP's to access data and other functions. This is not what I see when reviewing J2EE solutions. Maybe I'm not reading the info correctly?
