Thanks for the attempt :-) It just seemed strange to me that an object's NAME would always be the class name it was created from, and I was looking for a way around passing it in. And I do have a need for it, BTW. I am testing Download #20453, creating a multimedia timer requiring a callback. The only way I have found to set up the callback to operate properly is to pass it the obectname.procedure(), hence needing the NAME set to the object's reference. Just trying to get it down to omytimer = CREATEOBJECT("hptimer") if at all possible. Thanks again.
