Hi John,
I'm not sure what your doing. How can a table accept a parameter?
Ususally parameters are pass to procedures, functions, method, and events. A table can have an alias which is a refernece to the table. Inexes can be set using a number or a tag. Once an index is created it can be used to speed up SQL. Also, an index can be used to perform seeks or scans. VFP can use rushmore to spead up SQL or seek/scan because of indexes.
Usually the "set filter" command is used to filter a table. VFP can also use rushmore to speed up filter on tables given the proper indexes.
When your talking about a parameter being passed to a table, do you mean like the ?parameter used in parameterized views?
Does any of this ring a bell, so I can get a better idea of what your talking about.
