I would have developed apps for Windows for several reasons. 1 - because there was a good toolset to develop windows apps (Fox and VB). 2 - because Windows was the dominate player. 3 - Because if 95 was to be supported only until 2002 - that would have been 7 years - a lifetime in this business.

My point is that somehow - Fox being supported until 2010 sends a certain postive message. The product is supported until 2010 because that is MS's policy with any product - to support it for X amount of time after release. Support does not translate into MS endorsing the product and support does not translate into any meaningful innovation.
