I've become synonymous with bringing you the bazaar and unexplained, but you've always had the answer. Today I bring "something completely different" as it were.

When we run our main application and open up the primary window which has a complicated tree control on it, installshield fires up and randomly re-installs one of the applications on the system. I haven't figured a pattern to it yet, but it appears to run the installation for whatever was installed last.

A few days ago, I opened up the Intellisense manager... lo and behold, it did the same thing.

This is, of course, a bad thing. No one likes having stuff overwritten whenever the computer feels like it. The only remedy I've found so far is to go ahead and let it run the installation all over again - then it goes away.

If anyone knows why on God's green earth Installshield is randomly installing things when I fire off a tree control - and how to stop it - I can again disappear into the shadows to await another day when I shall taunt you a second time.
