Athoung I don't know it first hand, I've been told this is also true of VC++'s OLEContainer and that certain controls that work with VB don't work with the VC++ OLE Container.
The best explanation from MSFT which I've seen is in Knowledge Base article Q156037.
I assume the "standard" has been relaxed since the introduction of VFP 5.0.
