>Well, now I know! I'll keep that in mind for the future! :o) *G* I've been reading more lately at night since I've been working 16-18 hour days/7 days a week. It's about the only thing that clears my mind or I end up dreaming of programming all night and wake up in the middle of the night to change something I've done or finish something... The book I'm reading now is by an English author and everytime she inserts humour into the story I typically don't 'get it' until a couple of paragraphs later. I don't know if it is the difference between American and English humour or just that I'm so brain dead these days that I'm slow to catch on... :o)

>I've noticed that when I'm spending more hours than usual programming and I get really mentally exhausted that I start making stupid mistakes. I seem to pay closer attention to computations, etc but the basic stuff starts to get overlooked and I blank out on it (As you can see from my latest posts!) :o) That's probably just my age though... :o) I must not bounce back as quick as I used to. I remember the days when I could program all night and sleep less than 2 hours (if at all) and go back into work in the morning and keep on like that for days... oh the old days! :o) (Just like my old 'partying days' in the military!)

Still don't know if it goes with age or with territory. I still don't make so many inkblots and dogs ears in my code, but I'm definitely in the phase when I can remember four things to buy in the grocery if and only if a fifth isn't added as I go for the door. Then I'll surely forget two out of the first four.

Last night I was talking with my daughter about how I got my first programming job and how and why I eventually left it... and by the end I had hard time remembering why did I start telling that story. I did remember that in the end, which is a sort of a miracle and a sign of good mental shape... because I usually don't :).
