Well, now I know! I'll keep that in mind for the future! :o) *G* I've been reading more lately at night since I've been working 16-18 hour days/7 days a week. It's about the only thing that clears my mind or I end up dreaming of programming all night and wake up in the middle of the night to change something I've done or finish something... The book I'm reading now is by an English author and everytime she inserts humour into the story I typically don't 'get it' until a couple of paragraphs later. I don't know if it is the difference between American and English humour or just that I'm so brain dead these days that I'm slow to catch on... :o)

I've noticed that when I'm spending more hours than usual programming and I get really mentally exhausted that I start making stupid mistakes. I seem to pay closer attention to computations, etc but the basic stuff starts to get overlooked and I blank out on it (As you can see from my latest posts!) :o) That's probably just my age though... :o) I must not bounce back as quick as I used to. I remember the days when I could program all night and sleep less than 2 hours (if at all) and go back into work in the morning and keep on like that for days... oh the old days! :o) (Just like my old 'partying days' in the military!)

>It's just one of the instances of the miraculous ambiguity of English language... and I had another fit of making jokes just like we did at home, where it was impolite to laugh first. So the smileys are out when you're making it, they enter the picture only later, in case the joke works. Confused a lot of people that way, even at home, because it's the custom of just my city.

>>To my knowledge, Turkey is not occupied by anyone. Perhaps Cetin can clarify. Given the history of the Ottoman Empire I would find it difficult to fathom.

>>>Totally unrelated - about "Free Tibet" in your signature.

>>>I'm seeing "Free Turkey" here quite often, usually by the end of November, and it seems to repeat each year. I didn't realize Turkey was occupied by anyone... though, hand on heart, it does have some foreign troops on its territory, so by definition it may well be.
>>>
>>>May also be another case where English is too precise. I'm still getting confused at times. And at places, for that matter.
