Then why didnt Microsoft build those components in.
These sort of arguments go nowehere. .Net appears more verbose to me because it has more layers of abstraction in it. I had to create layers of my own in order to try and hide these layers.
As a result there is greater granularity. This makes it hard to learn but more flexible.
If we need so much flexibilty in the datacentric enviroment most of us work in is a moot point.
I put up with .net because I can now write for the Web and that is important for me to feed myself :)
