Whenever my accounts report very slow behavior, I think one thing immediately: Noton Anti-virus. For some reason, this doesn't seem to affect all computers, but if they are runing Norton and are sharing the data on a network, you can expect strange behavior.

With VFP, you must exclude the shared file (data file) types in Norton AV on every computer accessing the VFP data.
