Dean, I think Tore is right. Aside from what you could do on the programming side, try to contact Epson or an Epson dealer to get the printer at a great price and offer it tou your customers with a very slim margin. They will have less excuses not to go with your software.

In my case the printer drivers for the thermal printers made the printout so slow, that it using the driver simply was not an option. After thorough testing, I found that to get the fastest printout and easiest setup, generating a label description file and COPYing it to the printer was the way to go.

If a customer insists on using another printer, OK with me, but then this customer also must pay for the rewriting of my program. So far no customers has even asked, since we get a big discount on the printers and are able to sell them to our customers at a very good price. Our business is software, not hardware, and we consider the sale if the printers as a service to our customers.

>>I programmed my app to use Espon thermal printer. However, a couple of clients went out a baught different thermal printers from another manufacturer. All my Epson clients are printing fine. The other clients with other thermal printers are printing, but not very pretty.

>>Question: 1) I do tell the non Epson client to go and get an Epson printer or 2) do I modify my program to print for all thermal printers regardless of the manufacturer?
>>
>>If #2 what is the best way. How do I account for all the different POS printer manufacturer?

>>Thanks.
