>>You guys rooting for VFP really need to get off your high horse to think somebody is trying to rain on your parade about VFP when they're moving or experimenting or saying something nice about .Net. This is not a competition.

The "competition" seems to arise when people act smart because they changed their tool preference. I'm not talking about you; there just seems to be a certain type of person who comes in here giving out the scoffing and "hehehe" as if they are superior because they decided to prefer dotNET.

IME dotNET isn't so difficult to learn or use. It's just big- like eating a whole cherry pie is big- doesn't involve anything particularly difficult, it's just so huge and every so often you hit a cherry stone that got missed when the pie was made(!)

IMHO a certain amount of balance is needed. Education, awareness and "making haste slowly" seems to be an appropriate response, if that's what people want to do. It doesn't mean they are lumpen fools who need to be lectured over and over like the most exasperating sort of dullard, which seems to be what some people round here seem to think is indicated for anybody who still likes VFP. Just press the UT back arrow a few times and you'll see what I mean ;-)

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
