We use the WebBrowser ActiveX. I have read MS article #155969 which discusses distribution of the SHDOCVW.DLL. We instruct all users to get the latest versions of IE, and 155969 states that SHDOCVW.DLL has been included with IE since 3.x.

Yet, after reading 155969, it seems we have to sign a redistribution license. But we do not intend to distribute the DLL, we will instruct the users to install IE 6.0 or 5.0.

Question: Can we prepare our SETUP.EXE without IE and reliably rely on IE 5.0 or IE 6.0 having the correct DLLs for our product to use the WebBrowser control?

If you have had experience with product distribution and use the WebBrowser ActiveX or have info on this matter, I sure can use some enlightenment here. Thank you in advance.
