You're right. I made an assumption that since they wanted to write a new application using Access, that they must have felt that this was their sustainable and contemporary platform. It's an assumption I probably should not have made, but it's hard to imagine why they would want to write a new app with Access when they're planning to move their xbase programs to a new platform. Sounds too much like planned obsolescence to make work.
