Hi Steve,
I think this is as simple as SET ESCAPE OFF. We had the same problem with our system - we spotted it during development and like you, decided that we didn't want users pressing escape to cancel the queries! - However, during client runtime from the .EXE, escape is set off and the messages don't appear!
