Dorin, I am not arguing the pros and cons of either database or file server. They both have their strengths and application. I agree with your post. I am trying to make another (more sarcastic) point ;)

>Hi
>I'm a (not so) newly converted myself. The fact is that is the true regarding security. You can acheive security for DBF tables using encryption tools, though.
>OTOH, I love VFP and I use its engine extensively. Offline data, dynamic reindexing (why bother server?), local joins, and a lot more.
>The truth is that are database engines far more advanced that VFP data engine. Rushmore is called "query optimizer" and is based on same principles. But this doesn't make VFP less valuable, IMO.

>>Well there's nothing like a little arrogance from the newly converted hmmm? All those poor ignorant schmucks "playing with their little file based systems like VFP". How sad :(
>>
>>
>>>You can set things like this up if you like, but if someone wants real security of their database ... they'll migrate to a real database ... and stop playing around with a file based system like VFP.
>>>
>>>It's nice to be able to display your wares like this though.
>>
>>And what does this mean?
