After I responded, I thought I should've asked you if the keyboard has a Macro Key. I've seen something similar in the past when a user inadvertantly depressed the macro key. It was a real pain trying to find out how to disable it.

>>>Apparently since the upgrade the CTRL key is having no effect, so instead of getting, say bolding/unbolding of the word "word" I end up with "bwordb". When I Backspace and do it again it "takes" as desired. I have watched carefully and I can attest that I am hitting the CTRL key squarely, firmly and correctly in every case.

>>>Is anyone else suffering from this OR does anyone know of some setting that might be implicated?

>>Hi Jim - That's an odd one, especially the backspace thing. There was, a while back, a time where CTRL could have problems if the keyboard was set to some non-US countries. You might try setting (or re-setting, if it's already set that way) it to US, though I don't really think that will help (since that was quite long ago). But might as well check it out, since it's easy (Regional/Language area in CP).

>>Questions come to mind also, that might help get a good reply from someone, if not me:
>>
>>1) It's just the keyboard, right? IOW, using mouse/menu the features work okay right-off?
>>
>>2) The menus where problems occur have listed the CTRL key shortcuts as normal?
>>
>>3) It's in all apps, or just some? I wasn't quite clear on that.
>>
>>Additional thought: If only specific apps like Word, and only with keyboard, try re-setting the app internally, like to default (maybe the Tools/Customize/Keyboard...area)
