That book will improve your coding. So, instead of calling yourself a "laxy programmer" who writes code that others can maintain, you'll write better code that others can maintain...and without much more effort.

If you write code as we've been talking about, it becomes more difficult to maintain. The file gets closed somewhere in code, causing the open dialog to appear. These kinds of errors are much more difficult to track down than a simple syntax error or something that points to a specific line of code because you have no idea where the error occurs.
