I don't know what features you're using are not supported in Mind's Eyes control, but you can check about these with Rich. Sometimes he can solve apparently hard problems in a few minutes, and he's very open to do it.

This can be a possibility, but take in consideration that you need a license for each of your users. The only one I know which does not charge a fee, displays ads instead.

The 255 characters limitation is just a problem in the builder. There is not any implicit limitation in the class itself. I never used the builder, and never ran into this problem, indeed. But I'm a code-type guy, I almost don't use visual classes. ;-)
