It is in fact an inadequate regression test of your code.

It implies that he is not using proper coding techniques and testing.

I also said many times that i agree with this. But one thing for sure is that there is no way i will ever be 100% sure i'll never see this Open dialog pop-up no mather how defensive i can be. Could you garanty it?

>I don't use it, but that isn't the point. Because it is in the language there are people out there that do use it. There are also people out there that use the CHANGE command. If a command/feature is in the language you can be sure that someone, somewhere in the billions of lines of FoxPro code out there is using it. It does not matter if you or I use that command/feature. It does not matter if you or I think it is a good or bad command/feature.

Agreed, that why the request is to have an option to turn it off but woul be on by default.

>Stephane, I've said nothing of the sort anywhere in this thread. You are free to give your opinion about how you'd like to see this feature change. You are free to cast a vote on the wishlist. Please tell me what I've posted that leads you to think that I've said you should not give your opinion on the topic.

After reading the whole tread again, i realized all your replies were fine. so I'm sorry I've directed that comment at you. The thing that really ticked me off was that reply From CraigB:

I suggest that you read Code Complete by Steve McConnell. This book is considered by many to be THE guide to writing good code.

I'm sure this book is good, but a reply like this is elitist and implies that I can't properly code. Only because i disagree with his opinion.

Stephane
