Let's try turning it off and see if it helps for you. It is set to start automatically with a new install, and I have see an instance or 2 where it causes instability under some very specific circumstances.
Click the Options button in the Task Pane, and in the Options dialog, select the Task Pane Manager node on the left. Deselect the "Open the Task Pane Manager when Visual FoxPro starts" checkbox, and click OK. Close the TP, and restart VFP, and see if that helps.
